This block, from the Reconciliation Quilt, shows Jefferson Davis who was captured and imprisoned at Fort Monroe in 1865 for treason. This depicts his homecoming and his daughter presenting him with the American flag.The original Reconciliation Quilt, by Lucinda Ward Honstain, dated Nov. 18th 1867 is one of the most extraordinary pictorial album quilt known. It depicts events and life of the Union after the Civil War.
