This block, from the Reconciliation Quilt, shows a cat sitting in a chair, with a parrot perched on its back and birds on its arms, with leaves in all four corners. The original Reconciliation Quilt, by Lucinda Ward Honstain, dated Nov. 18th 1867 is one of the most extraordinary pictorial album quilts known. It depicts events and life of the Union after the Civil War. Photo: International Quilt Museum; Accession Number: 2001.11.0001
