This is a photo of the original rug, dated November 1907.
Two houses flank a central tree with the sun peeking thru the branches. The houses share a lane flanked by two horses. To complete the scene are flowers budding as if it is spring. The scene is framed in an oval of stripes and finished with triangular corners with the dates November 1907. I was first drawn to the symmetry of the design then I was drawn in by the soft, sunset colors.
